Commit #12

Georgia Tech's football program picked up a late Christmas present on the day after Christmas with the commitment of Northview receiver/athlete Jair Hawkins-Anderson.

Jair's bloodlines are impressive with his father being former Auburn star and NFL pro-bowler Willie Anderson. Anderson said his son was just ready to pull the trigger before his official visit next month.

"You know kids," Anderson joked. "Jair told me he was ready to commit and he has been to Tech plenty of times so he said why wait until the official visit to commit."

Yellow Jacket coach Bryan Cook and receivers coach Buzz Preston keyed the Jackets' recruitment of Hawkins-Anderson. The Jackets have been recruiting the talented wideout for some time. He had nine rushing touchdowns and 288 yards receiving as a senior.

"They like him at wide receiver and coach Cook and coach Preston have been recruiting him this whole time," Anderson said.

Anderson announced his decision out of the blue on Twitter.

Anderson held offers from Georgia, Illinois (officially visited in December), Louisville and Tennessee at various points this year. He could play wide receiver, A-back or defensive back for the Jackets.
